So We Are Past the Holidays...

We have passed the 2020 holidays and I hope that you gave good thought to what you would like to make happen for 2021. Notice that I said, "make happen" and NOT "see happen".

Maybe you have pondered why some people get great results and others do not.

This is because most people simply "wish" for certain outcomes. They wish for their weight to go down, they wish to see relationships get better, they wish for more money to "happen" to them. They don't take action because they believe good stuff just happens to some people and perhaps it might strike for them this year. We already know what happens here. Nothing. 

Others realize that they need to take action but don't give much thought as to what is really required and it is more than they think. For most big goals, it is difficult to guess all that may be required. There tends to be obstacles that they will have to overcome. 

Consider taking a drive across the whole country. You can plot your course. But if you are going to get all the way to your destination you will encounter things you didn't expect. A flat tire, funky weather, a closed road. But if you are going to make it, you will not know all these things before starting the journey. You have to make the decision to do what is required to complete the journey, not only the things you are aware of upon starting.

The same applies to fitness and weight loss goals. Inevitably there will be some pain, or possible injuries. For some, the idea of persistence, the fact they have to get up and do it yet again can be a challenge. For some people, this will stop them after even a great start. To get the job done, everyone has to be willing to do nothing less than WHATEVER is required.

For yet others, mindset challenges keep them from hitting their goal. This ranges from attachments to feelings of inadequacy to extreme judgment of themselves. In these case, there needs to be an honest look at what a person believes about themselves or how they identify, and be willing to make a new decision about how they think. This is all just product of thought. In the vast majority of these, addressing the main thought that is holding them back and being willing to adopt a new empowering thought will be required. Many of these types can be the hardest to address as most people will be unaware they have such thoughts, or that they can actually experience a breakthrough in their thinking that allows them to experience anything they wish. It may require spending time with someone who can coach them through, helping them to realize where they may be held captive in their thinking, and inviting them to make new decisions.

Let's make this new year one in which we adopt new empowering thoughts about what we are able to do, and be willing to do nothing less than what is required for us to have the best year ever!
